President & CEO
Darko Vranich, an entrepreneur, investor and developer, is a Croatian-born Canadian. A skilled leader and visionary, he founded and grew Vrancor Group from a single hotel property into a multimillion-dollar, multi-disciplinary business in less than 10 years. He is best known for careful strategic planning, rigorous financial management and uncompromising commitment to build, acquire and manage globally recognized branded hotels and developments.
His efforts have been acknowledged on many occasions as a recipient of numerous industry and community awards of excellence. These include “Developer of the Year” awards from both Hilton Worldwide and InterContinental Hotels Group and the Outstanding Business Achievement Award (Large Business category), Hamilton Chamber of Commerce. Over the course of Darko’s professional history, he has donated over $1.5 million to his communities. Today, he is committed to developments that will significantly boost local economies in a number of key markets throughout Ontario – the largest of which is the downtown core redevelopment of Ontario’s past and future economic powerhouse - Hamilton. But of course, as he likes to put it – his work has only just begun!
Director of Operations
A strategic hotel management professional and leader with extensive experience in the hospitality industry, Peter brings multidisciplinary experience in managing numerous hotel brand partnerships delivering the most efﬁcient and optimum ROI results across all of Vrancor's properties.

Regional Director, Sales & Marketing
An accomplished Sales leader, known for driving market-leading revenue by developing winning teams that excel in business development, pricing and marketing innovation. Karen is gifted in her abilities to spot trends, strategically develop opportunities, establish the game plan and provide insightful executive advisory. Her background includes senior regional leadership roles at Tourism Toronto, InterContinental Hotels Group, Westmont Hospitality and Easton’s Group.

Chief Financial Officer
Chris is an engaging and experienced financial leader, with overall responsibility to drive Vrancor’s high-ROI growth while leading the delivery of financial support for all properties and holdings. Chris gained his public accounting experience at PwC, where he successfully obtained his Chartered Accountant designation. Working closely with teams across the entire company, Chris plays a lead role to ensure that Vrancor’s smart growth initiatives provide maximum return to its shareholders, while providing service delivery excellence and targeted development growth.

Director of Finance
Ian is a skilled finance and accounting leader, responsible for day-to-day oversight of Vrancor’s accounting operations team, with a focus to produce timely and accurate financial statements and audit results. As a CPA, CA, Ian brings a depth of experience gained at both Rogers Communications and Ernst & Young LLP and plays a lead role in budget and forecast processes, while striving for continuous improvement in operating results and growth tactics.

Regional Operations Manager
A respected & seasoned hospitality leader with progressive experience in the full spectrum of hotel operations, Louis provides key oversight to ensure effective use of brand systems, resources and procedures to maximize brand value, guest satisfaction and profit. With a focus on Vrancor’s Focused Service and Extended Stay hotels, key responsibilities include establishing annual operational budgets, profit & loss reviews and working closely with brands and property teams to execute property improvement plans to elevate operations & asset value.
His specialties include: Franchise Operations, Property Improvement Plans, Team Building & Mentoring, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Compliance and Procurement.

Director Information Technology
Six Sigma qualified and a senior information technology leader for the past 15 years, Bally brings extensive expertise and out-of-the box thinking to managing day-to-day operations of data processing, telecommunications, network systems, software/hardware configuration and information technology implementation. Against the Vrancor Value to “consistently innovate”, Bally applies his comprehensive knowledge and support of networks, server systems, applications, databases and messaging technologies to ensure 100% uninterrupted productivity on behalf of guests, brands, partners and associates.
His specialties include: All aspects of IT Infrastructure including Service & Vendor Management, System Architecture, Business & Policy Process Implementation and System Integration.

Design - Planning
For over two decades, Gunther has been recognized for his planning and design expertise. He has co-ordinated the design and development of many of Vrancor’s signature hotels, banquet halls, restaurants and residential developments. With a background that includes a lead designer role for the International Family Fitness chain and numerous other major commercial projects, his expertise is relied on to deliver extraordinary urban development projects from the conceptual stage through to completion.

Director, Marquis Gardens &
Ajax Convention Centre
With a background in Economics and Accounting from the University of Ottawa and Red Seal Inter-Provincial Standard & Gold Seal Chef certificates from Niagara College, Paul entered into a partnership with Vrancor in 1998 with the opening of Marquis Gardens Banquet and Convention Centre in Hamilton. He has taken the lead in Food & Beverage service development in multiple hotels, the opening of Ajax Convention Centre and the expansion of the Marquis Garden brand in Ancaster and Burlington, Ontario. Paul maintains direct involvement in all aspects of Food & Beverage within Vrancor Hospitality Group and Vrancor Developments.
His specialties include: Marketing Development; Operational Efficiencies; Large Event Food Planning; Menu Design & Costing; Kitchen & Operational Design

Project Manager, Human Resources
An engaging Human Resources professional with a solid track record of contributing to the development of strong corporate cultures through team leading, coaching, health & safety and employee management. With a key focus on the Vrancor Value of “building and retaining high performance teams”, Paul’s key strengths include HR planning and implementation, employee feedback and evaluation, compensation and benefits and developing HR policies, programs and practices that meet the needs of motivated associates.
